This is a short video
from the Welsh language children's
programme 'Y Sioe Wyllt'. In the video Huw Denman and Phil
Harries go trapping squirrels in a Carmarthenshire forest managed
by Huw. They manage to catch a red squirrel which is released
back into the wild and the presenter Elain and Dei explain how
the grey squirrel has caused the red squirrel to become almost
extinct in Wales, except for a few conifer woods in mid Wales and
in Anglesey and in Clocaenog forest in north-east
Wales. The video first appeared
on S4C on the children's
programme 'Y Sioe Wyllt' (The Wild Show). and was produced by
Aden Productions. Dangoswyd y fideo byr
yma yn gyntaf ar rhaglen Y Sioe
Wyllt yn gynarach eleni. Yn y fideo mae Huw a Phil yn trapio
wiwerod yn coedwigoedd bythwyrdd yn Sir Gaerfyrddin. Mae nhw'n
llwyddo dal wiwer goch ac yn eu rhyddhau nol i'r gwyllt, ac mae
Elain and Dei yn disgrifio sut mae'r wiwer lwyd wedi llwyddo i
wthio'r wiwer goch o'i gynefin naturiol ac sut erbyn hyn mae ond
yn bosib gweld nhw yn rhannau o'r canolbarth, Sir Ddinbych ac
Ynys Môn. Cynhyrchwyd yr eitem gan cwmni Cwmni
Aden. Further information and
video footage of the Red Squirrel
